Temptations
Just before Christ began his earthly ministry, he did some pretty amazing things; he spent some time alone with God, and as soon as he spent that time alone with God, Satan came to him and tempted him in three ways. Over the next 3 weeks we are going to be taking a look at the temptations of Christ. It’s amazing how each one of the three temptations parallels how we are tempted in our own lives. Sometimes we question whether or not we are actually a child of God. Can the things that are going on in our lives actually happen to a child of God. Secondly, we are going to look at the fact that we expect things from God that just aren’t for us. Sometimes when we expect things of God that he doesn’t desire for us we become angry and disappointed. And third we are going to look at pride in our lives. Jesus was told he could have everything he could see if he would just fall down and worship Satan. And a lot of times in our own lives we are tempted in this same way.
